The humble people’s car from the eponymous “Volkswagen” brand generally fits in as a shortcut to humility in movie characters. Look at Kevin Bacon in Footloose, or the independent and youthful forces of Lindsay Lohan in Herbie or Hailee Steinfeld in Bumblebee, a Transformers spinoff that lacked a turbo boost of testosterone, but made up for it in character.
